My Grumpy Pumpkin

My great pumpkin patch adventure was thwarted by the fact that Z Man was totally not happy the entire 30 minutes we were there. In his defense, I did have to wake him up when we arrived and he has been sick this week, but usually I can elicit at least ONE smile. Not happening. And he cried! He never cries in public. I know that sounds silly to say, but he is usually quite well behaved and this was one of those whiny grumpy I just don't want to be here kind of cries....

So without further adieu, here is the grumpiest pumpkin of them all! ;-) (also noted, he was a complete happy kid the rest of the day including china cabinet furniture shopping! I would have thought the pumpkin patch would have been more fun than shopping! Oh well, we will have to try again!)
So serious...
REALLY? I am not into this whole pumpkin thing...
Is the shirt maybe? I don't know!
Not even a smile for pretty Caroline who was having fun with her bow in hair!
And this one says it all...."I don't want to share my wagon!!" Time to go home! Happy Pumpkin Patching! :)

haaaaCHOO!!!!

It's cold season...I cannot breathe. My nose is stuffed up yet it is dripping too. Lovely. My eyes are red. My throat scratches. Fun, fun, fun. I swear I never used to get sick. I blame the munchkin. He had the major snots last week and then I thought he was getting better. Now that is gone and he has a little touch of a cough. I guess it is Matt's turn to get it next? Any suggestions to make us all feel better? ;-)

I Heart NKOTB

I think I am in love again just like I was 15 years ago! I have been to a lot of great concerts in my life too...U2, Bon Jovi, Bily Joel, tons of country stars, etc and this was by far one of my favorite concerts ever. The boys have definitely been practicing since their preview on The Today Show too! It was a GREAT concert and a great weekend away with my best gal pals!

We have a crawler!!!

It started Saturday with a couple of forward lunges at sign class...and then a couple more that afternoon. And then a few more on Sunday....And then Monday, he was off!! Went all the way down the hall after Max! :) It is so cute to watch him and today he could do even more. All of a sudden, our guy is mobile! When did my baby boy grow up?? Ignore my crazy baby talking....and enjoy!

Shopping

So I needed something to wear to the wedding on Saturday....and while out I needed some work clothes too. People, I look like a lady that had a baby 8 months ago and hasn't bought new clothes since WAY before Zach was conceived. There was always some excuse to not buy stuff, or I would rather, once Zach was born, buy stuff for him!! So the work wardrobe has been definitely suffering. Well today I decided to look. One nice surprise, some new better sizes fit so that was cool. But the main thing was, when I put on a new "outfit", I realized how crummy my other clothes looked. Just, like...I didn't really care, ya know? SO I am actually excited to get dressed tomorrow for work! And I have hair appointment tomorrow afternoon too so by Friday, i shall look like a new woman!! :-) Working in a professional setting, it is somewhat important to look the part too. So after a long personal shopping hiatus, I bought clothes. And it felt GOOD. I am excited to get dressed in the (very early) morning. Oh yeah, and I have a MUCH NEEDED hair appointment tomorrow too. With Danny's wedding and Kari's shower, I think I may be have some pictures taken and it would be nice to not look totally fugly! And next week is the great NKOTB girls weekend so I need fresh hair for that too. :) So anyway, by Friday, I shall look partially human again!

Well, the new hours are taking a toll on me so I shall call it a night. many more on recent observsations from a suburb mom to come!!!'Night night!

The Big Move and the 1st Commute

Well Sunday was the big day and after almost 12 hours, we moved out of the town home. Yes, that is right, 12 hours! Where in the world was all that stuff, I have NO idea people, but it was there. It took us TWO trips with the big ole van to get it all here. At around 9pm, I told Matt just let them put together Zach's crib and our bed and that's it! I was pooped and definitely ready to sleep!

Monday we both took off to wait for the gas and cable people to show up. More on that another night. All eventually came although we are considering switching to AT&T U-Verse. We got a lot accomplished but there is still a LOT to be done. BIG Thanks to my mom who came over and helped with Zachary all day so we could actually do some unpacking. It was no small feat as Zach was generally crabby all day (which isn't normal) so I am blaming it on a growth spurt or teething!!!! But we did get some stuff done and the kitchen, bathrooms, Zach's room, are all more then livable so all is well there.

And today was the big commute. I will comment on that more later and the handing over of the keys to the townhome but I am POOPED so better call it a night since I have to get up at 5am! Ciao!!

Taking a Break

Whew, I AM POOPED!!!!!!!!! Taking a short break for dinner from a very long day. Started the morning off at 5:30am to get ready for the Race for the Cure! This year we had some of the babies joining us and they all did great, even standing and waiting for about a half hour to walk. There was a new record of over 30,000 participants so you can imagine it could get a little gridlocked! ;-) Once we got moving though, it was a great time just being with friends and supporting a great cause. The best part always is The Survivors Finish Line. I started our team 3 years ago when Sherrie and Betty (friends' moms were diagnosed with breast cancer). Seeing Sherrie cross that finish line gave me chills last year and did again this year too! Very powerful!! (Betty met us after too for the brunch, she is also a survivor!!)

Anyway, the walk was fun and the brunch was delicious! It was a lot of fun to watch all the little ones play together...ranging from 4 months to 2.5 years! Zachary and Julia had a GRAND time. They were sitting and playing together on the floor. At first it started out just sharing toys, but then Z was trying to hold her hand, pull her ear, and even give her a kiss! And julia was just all grins the whole time. ADORABLE! My camera connector is passed away so I will have to add pics later but believe me, it was cute. I wish we had the video camera!

Home by noon and have been packing EVER since. It is truly amazing how much crap, errr, I mean, STUFF is in a house! We have MANY bags of trash full and still tons of boxes! But we get to the point where its like...we just need to pack SO PUT IT IN THE BOXES!!! Especially with a baby in tow all day. Zach has been great all day though, especially considering we have been packing up all his stuff away. He has been a serious trooper. Today while sitting up in his crib, he also discovered he could reach the mobile. It was hillarious as he was screeching with delight as he grabbed the creatures he has been eyeing and hoping to touch for months! Needless to say, it came down and will not be going back up. And the crib will be lowered when he is in his new room too.

So anyway, it has been a loooong day and sometime emotional too. I was okay until it was time to put Zachary to sleep in his big empty room with empty walls. As I rocked him to sleep while I was giving him his bottle, my mind could not help to go back to putting his room together, bringing him home to this house, and those first few nights here with him! Lots of wonderful memories! Not to mention this being Matt and I's first house together....first Christmas, anniversary, every holiday! Getting Esther! I could go on and on. I know new house will have tons of its own memories too, but I will always treasure the ones we made here! They are part of our story together!!!!!!!! :)

Ok, matt is back with the food so I will bid you adieu! Hopefully Internet is all set up on Monday so I will post some pics then. Until then...Good Night!!

Alive

I know, its been a week since I have posted! What is up with that?!? We have just been busy, packing and moving! As soon as my head hits the pillow I am ASLEEP!!!!!!

We have basically packed up the kitchen, dining room, hall closests, and guest bedroom. So that leaves the bathrooms, Z's room, and Master Bedroom.....oh yeah and the garage and attic! ACK! We are going to be busy tomorrow night and Saturday and the movers show up at 9am Sunday morning!

Speaking of busy, its that time of year again! We have something like every weekend for the next couple of months. Showers, parties, trips, dinners, etc etc etc...Hard to plan things when you have something going on every weekend.

And in Z news, the boy turned into a boy from a baby like over night! How does that happen? Tuesday night we were taking a load of stuff to the new house....Z was on the boppy on the floor feeding himself a bottle (yes, he does that now thanks to bookclub telling me he could, LOL!) and we turned around and there he was across the floor sitting up! He goes from the crawl position to sitting on his feet (caroline-style) and then there he is. It is definitely time to drop the crib when we move this weekend! I am glad we are moving now or else we would have been baby-proofing twice!! He is also eating new and more Stage 2 foods. And babbling up a storm. Definitely some ma-mas and da-das in there even if they still mean nothing to him :)

This weekend we will be doing the Komen Race for the Cure. It is our 3rd year as a team to walk together. I am very proud to report that I have raised $1000 already. I know its tough times to donate money so I donated to myself and am also so appreciative to those who donated on my behalf. It goes to a great cause and helps to find an end for cancer!

Ok, I think the debates are just about over. Should be interesting to hear the discussions tomorrow! I am calling it a night! Ciao!
