The last time Matt and I went on a real vacation on our own...was when I was about 16 weeks pregnant with Zachary. you do the math...that was almost 5 years ago!! Holy moly!
Matt's dad was being installed as the President of the National Society of Professional Engineers in San Diego and we were invited to come along and celebrate. We debated awhile back when we decided to go about bringing the boys with us...but as my mom pointed out, it may be awhile before we get to go anywhere alone again soon! So off we went, just me and my Mattie. It.was.devine! :)
We used some of the points we have stored up from forever and got first class seats to fly. It was both of our first times to fly First Class and my, was it nice. How will we ever sit in the back of the plane again? Ha!
We had a couple of obligations to attend, but all and all, we were on our own. We did the San Diego zoo, got spa treatments, and just a lot of driving up and down the coast. It is BEAUTIFUL!!
We had a really great time together and were thankful for the opportunity to go. And I highly recommend San Diego if you have a chance. You won't be disappointed!!
Here are couple of pics from trip!

Eight is Great!
This week hubby and I also celebrated our 8th anniversary. We may not be perfect, but we are perfect for each other! ;-)
Matt surprised me by picking me up at work for lunch and sending flowers to my office. We usually are not a "delivered flowers" kinda couple so it was a nice treat for sure!! They were beautiful red and pink roses!
That night we talked about just how much life had changed in the last 8 years. I will be the first to admit that marriage is hard work, but I can honestly say that I am happier and more in love now then I was then! Maybe it's because I know more what love really is...and how hard we continue to work at it, but I am truly blessed and thankful that God led me to the partner and best friend I am supposed to have for life.
Thank you honey and here is to many many more years to together. Love you!

Slow down
I swear I blink and another week or three has gone by again! I better get ready for baby boy because t this rate, I'm going to just wake up and he will be here!
So, here we go for an update again: It's been a long week. My dad was admitted to the hospital this past Wednesday for breathing trouble and he is still there. He still has fluid in his lungs, from the pneumonia?, we aren't sure...but they keep trying and it's not clearing up. While there, they have discovered he has heart disease and will need a bypass surgery. But can't do that until lungs clear. Doing a lung scope tomorrow morning and will hopefully finally figure out what is going on there so we can move forward. Once they are ready for surgery, he will be transferred to the medical center for bypass surgery. Any prayers are definitely appreciated!
As for the boys, it's summer here and it is HOT! They will start swim lessons at our neighborhood pool within the week so exited for that. We have been visiting the pool a lot already. Mark is a no fear fish so I am excited to see how he will catch on again. Zach just needs confidence. He can do more than he thinks he can...and panics. Hopefully can overcome that!
We moved up in classes at church 2 weeks ago. Zachary loves all his friends and his teachers but not change so muh so I was curious how he would do...no worries, he didn't even mind his new room since all his pals were in there! Mark still has cried every time for the last year when I dropped him in the nursery so I was very worried how he would transition into an actual classroom. First week, cried 5 minutes, this Sunday...not at ALL! He say she loved his new big boy class and was happy to see his friends! Hopefully this means he may do okay in MDO at our church this year too.
Baby news: had a dr appt today at 29 weeks and 4 days. Measuring perfect and I passed my gestational diabetes with flying colors and no anemia. Yay! Had to take the boys with me as they rescheduled me last week. It was a little stressful but they were pretty good. Still no name for this boy but probably narrowed down at least. Most days I think I'm okay...but other moments, I'm a little nervous about how we will all adjust. And the fact that we will have no life for probably the next 2 years. Will be very thankful for Kids Night Out at church every month!!
Oh, and I turned 34 last week.my friend Kerri and I took the kids to the beach that Monday and had a blast. Only wish we could have stayed the night and done it again the next day! On my actual birthday, I went to the dermatologist for a mole check. Ended up having 2 removed and should find out this week the results on those. I'm sure it's nothing but I will be relieved to hear back nonetheless. Matt made me a nice steak dinner that night and I got a new lens for our camera so all in all, a good day!
Whew, I have got to update more often, too much to write at one time otherwise! :)

Catching Up
I have been so bad at posting as of late so here are some pics of what we have been up to lately:
We went to our church Missions Gala the last weekend if April. It was a lot of fun getting dressed up, even if in a maternity dress ;-) We came home the proud owners of a front row parking spot at church! Figured it would be a good investment for the first year of #3's life.

I spoke too soon
What started out as a yucky long incident in the car with Mark, unfortunately turned into a "family affair". We were ATTACKED by the stomach BUG!!
It was a long and messy and stinky and ouchy week full of many loads of laundry and lots of cranky people. And I am so happy to say it is OVER!
Seriously, I don't wish that on my worst enemy. Matt and I joked (when we were both finally able to laugh about the whole week without wanting to cry...at least me) that the family stomach bug was definitely a test on the strength of one's marriage! :) Taking care of each other, the kids, the house, and work...not to mention hearing and seeing things no person should see...and then waking up and still loving them in the morning...that my friends, is true Love! If we can survive that, we can survive anything. HA!
Looking forward to a nice long relaxing and puke plus other unmentionables-free weekend.
May the stomach bug gods stay away from your house and mine! :)

Road trip
Things I will never go on a road trip with kiddos without from here on: -garbage bags -hand sanitizer -febreeze -towels -plenty of wipes After s fun weekend in Austin visiting the in laws, we headed home right around nap time for a quiet ride home. About 25 min into our drive....blech! Poor markey tossed up all his lunch of Mac n cheese and milk. Not sure which was worse, the look or the smell? Somehow we have managed to avoid stomach bugs with the boys so this was a first. We pulled over and stripped the poor boy down on the side of the road. Full change and then back into the car...and then 30 mon later-repeat, and then one more time again! After that we tucked one of Matt's tshirts round him so if he did again, would mostly hit that. Which it did. It was a long smelly ride home!! Finally made it home and poor boy lost it 3 more times. Then that was it! No clue what he picked up but thankfully no one else seems to be affected! Hallelujah! :)
