And don't throw a FIT! :)
That's something they must say at Zach's school...but wherever it came from, we love it. New family mantra perhaps? I kid, I kid (kinda. I think I'm going to make a sign of that for our house). Cause hey, it's kinda working!
Despite having a very rainy and wet weekend (which can be BAD for a family with 2 very active little boys), it was a really good weekend! We got several things accomplished and some errands done, plus we just had fun. And Sunday, well, it was a Christmas miracle that on the day of daylight savings time AND a torrential down pour, we made it to church on time and with all happy faces. Life is good! Plus I got to shower my friend Amy Sunday afternoon with my PEO Sisters which is always fun too.
Along with all that, I seemed to hit the jackpot over the weekend with stumbling upon some new blogs or finding some really great and encouraging posts on some of my already beloved ones.
So without further ado, here are a few of my faaaavorite posts....(now that I have you all singing Sound of Music in your head):
**First off, I discovered the mob society...a blog "For moms of boys, By moms of boys". Good stuff people, there are several posts just from March that I could share. And its not just for boy only moms either, although some are centered on that. It just for if you have a SON, period. Conversely, I read this article and this article on modsquad blog, that i loved too. Both sites, although some pointed at gender specifics, just have good encouraging MOM posts! Read on and be blessed and encouraged!
1) And all the ALL boy mommas say, Amen! This could have been written from my own heart and mind. Glimpses of the Sincere Hearts was like a little window into my daily life and it was so good to read that I am not alone!
2) Who is Cheering You on? I am so thankful to have true friends that I know are cheering me on along the race of motherhood. It was also a good reminder to me to make sure I encourage others as well.
3) Mommy, Come Play...Guilty, I have heard those words before. It is so very easy to get caught up in the to To-Dos of life, that we forget to make time or energy for one thing we crave most of all...I know after reading this, I was more deliberate in my time this weekend and putting PLAY before work.
4) Lesson Learned at the Racetrack. Another great reminder "that they grow up too fast!"
5) Guard Your Heart, Bro. For the mommas of older sons, but it was the first MOB article I read and it really got me thinking about what we need to do to raise our sons into the Godly men we pray they will become!
6) Apologies to the Parents I Judged Four Years Ago, I'm Sorry. Oh so funny, because it's true!
I am sure there were some other really good ones, but that will get you started!
I will save it for another post, but I have some more good books to share too. One is a devotional I started reading in the mornings. Short, but oh so powerful. I find myself coming back to them throughout the day to read again. I have been searching for something like this, and thanks to the *wonder* of facebook, I found it via some random person's recommendation. I am loving it!
It feels like its only 11:30, but the clock now says 12:30am so I must be headed to bed. Gotta be ready to greet the day before my little monkeys are! Happy Monday all!
(P.S.- 4 more days till baby reveal!!!)
